LIGHT:SPACE ART TRAIL

LIGHT:space was a COVID-safe Art Trail. Set up in 2021, people could view the artworks as they walked around Stockton for their essential shopping, or daily exercise. At a time with fear and uncertainty, isolation and threat for the Country, Wild Vision Collective, wanted to promote a message of hope, bringing cheer and positivity during the darkest months of the year, in a National lockdown. WVC pitched the idea at ARC’s Pizza and Pitches event, winning £1000 to fund our vision. The exhibition saw 13 artists, install works using light, video and movement across seven empty shop windows of Wellington Square and the windows of ARC Stockton.

Beth’s experimental artwork Stretch, was made specifically for this exhibition. A fusion of brutalism and embroidery, Beth pushes the fabric of her embroidery craft. Choosing concrete as her canvas and embroidering with light.
